  5. Quick Hot Rum

  7. With the winter coming around and cold nights starting to get to even
  8. us here in California, I think it's time I made a new batch of Hot Rum
  9. Batter, as follows:

  11. 1 lb unsalted butter
  12. 1 lb white sugar
  13. 1 lb brown sugar
  14. 1 qt good vanilla ice cream
  15.  
  16. Let the butter and ice cream soften, and cream the butter with the
  17. sugars.  Mix in the ice cream.  Put the batter into your freezer and
  18. wait for a cold night.

  20. When a cold night comes around, get a big mug and put some water on to
  21. boil.  Get a big dollop, about 2 Tbs, of the batter out of the freezer
  22. and into the mug.  You may have to stir up the batter a bit since the
  23. butter can float to the top of the batter.  Add an ounce or two of rum
  24. and stir a bit.  Add about 8 oz of boiling water and stir a bit more.

  26. Very quick to warm you up on a cold night.  Enjoy.
